Year starts with messages on the screen in Pompey Uni student union. Experimental cooking with Cherry Coke and whisky. Fat Mat, before the PhD diet. 100% pure Nuk. Portsmouth sunset. Writing up does strange things to you (I don't remember this). How to poach an egg and make no mess. Boakes opening a bottle with a drill. My ants keeping me company while I wrote. Gemma and I in my jeans near the end of my diet. Reading Festival - ponchos are the new hotness. Where I wrote up my PhD on the day we moved out of Pompey. New house (Hook) and new car, exciting times. The final draft of the my thesis. My desk at Uni where my PhD was born and nurtured. Gaudi's Casa Mila in Barcelona. Handing in the final copies of my PhD thesis. Stone Henge on a nice October morning. The inside view of half way up Salisbury Cathedral spire. Gemma and Stitch in the Magic Kingdom, Disney World Florida. The Rockin Roller Coaster at MGM studios. The NASA Vehicle Assembly Building (VAB) at the Kennedy Space Center. The arse end of a Saturn 5 rocket, breathtakingly huge. An awesome tortoise. Gator ribs and gator nuggets. Gatorlad gators before they are turned into tasty treats. Emperor penguins and friends at Seaworld. The Incredible Hulk coatser after Gemma made me go on it 3 times in a row. The 100% completed PhD thesis. Finally it was all over. Zap Branigan comes to life, it's like magic. Buckle mania!! The PhD in writing. Gemma snow angel. Giant hamster beer. I fought with my fear of heights to do some climbing for the first time since I was a kid. The year ends with homemade meat balls.
